Life & Livelihood Skills
Storytelling – Storytelling sessions are incredibly exciting for children! During these sessions children’s imagination is sparked, they connect with the characters and experiences, developing empathy and understanding. Our story telling sessions are led by the teachers and junior teachers thus involving the children’s audience, giving it an engaging experience. The stories share valuable lessons, teaching the children about life, morals, and values. They are Biblical, local and different children stories each with a lesson to take home. It is also a special bonding time between the children and the storyteller. Wow as we share these stories there is an incorporation of music, sound effects, and visuals, making them a multisensory delight. Storytelling exposes children to new vocabulary, sentence structures, and communication skills, it also inspires the children to create their own stories and adventures. We enjoy every storytelling session because it creates cherished memories for the children, lasting a lifetime. Join us today for that storytelling session.
Book reading clubs – Book reading is incredibly exciting for children. In silence and sometimes in read aloud sessions, books take the children to new worlds, spark their imagination, and inspire creativity. Through the stories, they get to explore new places, meet new friends, and experience different cultures. At times the children find that they can relate to some of the characters, making the story more relatable and engaging. When they read about a school going child and the challenges that child encounters, they see the similarity and even learn how to best handle some challenges as they read the story. Reading introduces them to new concepts, ideas, and knowledge in a fun and engaging way. These moments also promotes relaxation and calmness. With the age graded story books, the books with picture, early readers, and interactive stories, reading can be a hands-on and an immersive experience. Through reading stories children develop empathy and understanding of different ways of doing things and emotions. Let’s not forget the joy of reading funny stories and laughing together! It is always fun and laughter is a medicine to the bones. As a good culture, a love for reading in childhood can lead to a lifelong passion for learning and exploration. We build a book reading culture in the transformed generation to God’s glory.

This encourages them to have an entrepreneurial mind thus being creative, innovative, and a risk-taker. The practical skills offered which are hands-on skills like cooking, gardening, and crafts are handy in matters of sustainability and raising an income. They empower the children to take pride in their abilities and also share with them various career paths and industries. Children are also introduced to basic money management and budgeting matters. One of the tools developed is the Love Treasure Bank which encourages children to start saving and earning early.
